You need a plan.
You don’t have to complete the plan. You don’t have to follow the plan perfectly. You don’t have to stick to the plan even if it doesn’t work. But you need one.
Planning, for most people, is not fun. It’s not sexy and exciting to sit down and organize high-level thoughts. It’s boring to translate those ideas into the next actions that move them forward, and it’s usually even less fun to actually do those next actions.
But isn’t that approach so much better than just being jerked around by life? Isn’t it more peaceful and calming to know that you have an overview of an approach to trying to take some control of your success and desired outcomes?
Too many people are walking around letting things just happen to them and then complaining about the results.
You need a plan. It helps focus, and it helps you know when to stick to it and when to deviate from it.
Take a few minutes. Get clear on goals. Clarify and document the actions to move them forward. Then put your plan to work and see what happens.
