Don’t Rush the Plan

Rushing the plan leads to unforced errors that can make it dead on arrival.

I help people develop plans all day, every day. I hear people ask all the time how they can create the fastest solution, the silver bullet, or quick meeting that will produce exponential results overnight.

That plan doesn’t exist.

More importantly, if you try to rush the process of developing and executing a solid, sustainable plan based around boring, routine work done consistently well, you’re likely to doom the plan to failure from the very start.

Make good plans and reach for the stars. Dream big and shoot to solve big problems. But don’t rush the execution process.

There are no shortcuts or silver bullets. There ARE occasional lucky breaks, but those who have implemented the plan in a careful, sustainable way are almost always better positioned to capitalize on lucky breaks.

Slow and steady still wins the race.
